Cocktail hour is the softest stretch of a wedding day. Your guests have a drink in hand, the light is turning golden, and there's an hour to fill. A small, beautifully styled pen with a shaggy Highland calf in it gives everyone somewhere to drift — and gives your photographer something genuinely unrepeatable to shoot.
It's also the kindest thing you can do for the children on your guest list. Instead of restless kids at a long reception, you get a quiet corner of the venue where they're occupied, supervised, and delighted for the whole hour.
We work directly with your planner or venue coordinator on placement, load-in, and timing, so this becomes one more thing you don't have to think about on the day.

Pick the animals and the length of the visit to match your guest count, then check that we travel to your venue's city.

Send the date and window. We confirm availability and email a 50% deposit invoice, with the balance due 7 days before.

Insurance, care, and paperwork
Every animal is current on vaccinations and routine veterinary care, and hand-raised to stay calm around music, crowds, and cameras. A trained handler supervises all interactions, hand sanitizer is available throughout, and we carry commercial liability insurance — venues and planners can request a certificate any time. Adult supervision of children is required during the visit.

How does a petting zoo work at a wedding?
Most couples book us for cocktail hour or the first hour of the reception, when guests are mingling and looking for something to do. We build a softly styled pen off to the side of the celebration, and guests wander over between drinks. It gives your photographer a beautiful backdrop and keeps younger guests happily occupied.
Can the animals be part of the ceremony or photos?
Yes. A miniature Highland calf in the couple's portraits is a favorite request, and our handlers can bring an animal out for a short, calm photo window. We keep ceremony appearances brief and handler-led so nothing upstages your vows.
How much does a wedding petting zoo cost?
Wedding bookings usually land between The Gathering and The Little Wild Experience, with the Experience at $995 being the most popular for receptions. Larger venues and multi-pen setups fall under Signature Events. Setup, handlers, and cleanup are always included.
Will the animals be okay at an outdoor venue?
Our animals are hand-raised and used to music, crowds, and cameras. We need a shaded, level area of roughly 15 by 15 feet with vehicle access, and we coordinate directly with your venue or planner on placement, timing, and load-in.
How far in advance should we book?
Weddings book earliest — we recommend reserving as soon as you have your venue, and at minimum 7 days out. A 50% deposit holds your date and the balance is due 7 days before the event.
